My wife, Angela and I, are two 30-somethings living in the DFW area (Lake Highlands). We graduated from Texas Christian University in 2002, with degree’s in Business Administration, and launched two wonderful , lucrative careers in the insurance industry. While we love our careers, we had a drive to do something more in our evenings and weekends, and starting up a website to assist the elderly and their families navigate through this difficult time was a perfect fit.
The idea for the Retirement Care Guide actually came about in 2003, when my father was tasked with the extremely difficult challenge of finding the perfect care environment for my grandmother, who was starting to show signs of dementia. Navigating through all the options available, pre-qualifying and locating communities that meet all of her needs, and compiling that information into a simple format to compare the options side-by-side and make the best decision was one of the most daunting things he has ever had to do (aside from Medical School). We took those lessons and devised a business plan, years ago, which revolved around building a website that focuses on content, as opposed to advertising or marketing. We felt that “Priority and Advanced Listings” were a waste of time and that all information available should be comprehensive , advanced and free to all who need it.
In 2010, we decided to launch the Retirement Care Guide, to fulfill a deeper sense of purpose in our careers and our lives. Our mission is to help people understand their care options and be able to make informed decisions based on their research. Our site was developed around the premise that information should always be free to those who need it, and at the same time we want to offer care providers throughout the MetroPlex an inexpensive, hands-off tool to give them access to pre-qualified clientele, allowing them to focus on their core purpose…helping out the elderly.
Thank you!
